ways to see

when tackling a sketch from ref..

FIRST SEE

1 CIRCLES- find the circles, join them up
2 NEGATIVE SHAPES- so much easier to see than complicated figures
3 MAPPING- horizontal and vertical imaginary lines to make sure things are in the right place
4 PUT ALL 3 TOGETHER.

Now you are ready to draw/sketch.. confident that you have "placeholders" in the correct place to sketch properly

A PHOTO REF
B DARKER- to see the highlights
C LIGHTER- to see what's in the shadows
D UPSIDE DOWN- to clear your mind of what you think you see.
