Illustration for the classic novel 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley.
This novel is having somewhat of a resurgence recently with some warning that the current global climate is heading this way.
Basic storyline
written in 1931 when Henry Ford invented the assembly line for cars. Aldous Huxley imagined what life would be like if people were born on assembly lines.
Dystopian future society, set in 632AF (After Ford)
People are born on assembly lines into castes (classes) Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma and the lowly Epsilons. (1 Alpha or 96 Epsilons per egg :/ )
They wear the colours associated with their caste and are kept compliant by a drug called Soma.
Free love and drugs for all with consumerism being encouraged.
Art, History and Religion have been banned (crosses have had their tops removed to look like T, after model T ford).
Various characters here include Lenina (in green) Bernard (on the right) and John the Savage (on the left). I've tried to include as much as possible- I adapted the novel into a play ages ago.
